Why the name Blyth Spirit?
Gosh, it's a lot easier to explain in English than in French! It's a play on words with our surname, Blyth, and the wonderful theatre piece, "Blithe Spirit" by Noel Coward, as well as Shelley's " To a Skylark" (our apologies to both Shelly and Coward). "Blithe", meaning carefree, happy and lighthearted.
Following studying for a Masters in Design at the Royal College of Art in London, Simon created Blyth Spirit in Harold, Bedfordshire in 1993. Our love of all things French prompted us to up-sticks and move to France in 1999. Having had the pleasure of living and working in the beautiful Catalan villages of Eus and Joch we made the move to Vernet les Bains in 2015.
Our slightly remote setting, in the foothills of Mount Canigou in the historic spa town of Vernet les Bains, isn’t a typical home for a “cool” design studio but we love it! It is this beautiful setting that provides us with a good deal of our charm and uniqueness, qualities that are not wasted on our visiting clients.
We pride ourselves on our versatility and flexibility. As a team we are more than confident that all graphic, print design and website requirements can be met in-house.
Should you wish to come by to discuss how we can help you with all things web and design related, then our door is always open and the kettle is never far from the boil !
If you don't fancy a trip to Vernet then we are always more than happy to visit you where ever you are in the PO, Languedoc Rousillon and beyond.
We look forward to working with you
